Artificial Insemination

Artificial insemination as a widely used method of dog breeding. Artificial insemination for dogs has a number of advantages over natural breeding, including reducing the risk of infection and unwanted viruses, as well as facilitating the breeding of certain breeds that either wouldn’t be possible naturally or would cause harm to the mating dogs if done naturally. Artificial insemination is most successful when fresh semen from the dog is used.

Progesterone Testing

Progesterone testing is used to determine the optimal time for breeding by finding out when ovulation occurs during your dog`s season or `heat cycle`. However, a season can be as long as six weeks or as short as one week and ovulation can occur any time from the third day of their season to as late as the 29th day.  Knowing when your dog is fertile is made simple by testing her progesterone levels.

Sperm Analyzation

We want to be sure that your stud dog’s sperm is the healthiest it can be to ensure a successful pregnancy.

As part of our male dog fertility testing, we assess the following factors:​

• Sperm motility

• Forward motility

• Sperm morphology

• Volume

• Bacteria 

Ultrasound Scanning

Ultrasound scanning is  invaluable for the examination during pregnancy. However, the technique is also extremely useful in evaluating heart conditions and identifying changes in abdominal organs. Ultrasonography is very useful in the diagnosis of cysts and tumours and to see how many pups are to be expected.
